So What's a "Manga"? "Manga" are a Japanese genre of comic books. Unlike American comics, they are usually printed in black-and-white with color covers, or as serials in major magazines. Many popular anime shows had their humble beginnings as manga, such as Lupin the Third, Ranma 1/2 and Inu-Yasha just to name a scant few. Though the word "manga" basically means "irresponsible drawings" in Japanese, there are manga for virtually every age group in Japan, from kids' fare to adult stories. Besides being cheaper to produce, manga's black-and-white format presents a unique feel not found in conventional comic books. They also frequently tackle much more mature content, something readers can look forward to in Eye of Horus.
